Ketamine is a powerful anesthetic, which is most often used to help calm an animal for surgical procedures. Glutamate generally jacks up brain activity. Ketamine stimulates sensations of illusory movement or leaving one’s body by cutting glutamate’s ability to energize certain brain areas.
Addicts, using ketamine to get high on. In low doses, ketamine stimulate and increase heart rate. At higher doses, ketamine press breathing, and acts as a paralyzing psychedelic. Ketamine is in the same class drugs as Angel Dust and laughing gas. Known on the street as Special K, ketamine gives users the feeling of dreaminess, numbness in their feet, and hallucinations. Some users liken it to out-body-experience.
